Here at Grade Potential we are continually looking for competent,
reliable, enthusiastic, and inspirational tutors. We tutor all
subjects and classes at the Elementary, Junior High, High School, and
College levels.
The backgrounds of our tutors vary widely. We work with credentialed
teachers, college and grad students, professionals in various
industries, special education teachers, as well as many others.
Since the needs of our students vary widely, we like to have many
different types of tutors who teach within many different
disciplines so that we can match up our students with the tutor that
best fits their needs.
The way that the process works from your perspective is that
when we receive a student that we think would match up well with you
we would contact you to offer you the specific student. We would let
you know all the details such as where, when, what subject
matter, frequency, and student personality. If you would like the
job then you go ahead and accept it. If you do not want the job
then you just tell us "no thanks." There is no minimum that you
need to tutor, you only accept jobs that are appealing to you. All
tutoring sessions take place either in the students home or at a
neutral location.
We typically pay between $12-$18 per hour for college and grad
students and between $15-$20 for credentialed teachers and other
professionals. If driving time is involved we of course pay you
extra. All tutors are hired as independent contractors and for that
reason there are no taxes taken out of your check. It is your
prerogative to file taxes with the government. Some nice logistical
issues that come from working with us is that your student must give
you 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will still be paid for 1
hour, you will always be paid for a minimum of 1 hour, and we deal
with all the billing! This last issue has been something that our
tutors always express appreciation for. They have told us that they
like the relationship with their student better when they do not
have to put out their hand at the end of the session and ask for
money. Their relationship is strictly one of a tutor/mentor who
helps and inspires their student.
If working as a tutor with Grade Potential sounds interesting to
you then we invite you to go to our website at
www.GradePotential.com/Jobs and click on "Interested In Joining
Our Team." Here you will be able to learn a little more about us and
register for one of our up and coming informational sessions. At
this session we will get to know each other and have you fill out
some paperwork to give us a better idea as to what type of students
would match up well with you. Of course if you have any questions
in the mean time, please feel free to call us. We look forward to
meeting you!
REMEMBER, YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUBMIT RESUMES OR APPLICATIONS THROUGH
SLOJOBS.COM. PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.GradePotential.COM/Jobs
