To facilitate our continued growth, we are searching for additional
team members in the following capacity:
Job Title: Technical Writer (2 positions available) and Senior
Technical Writer (1 position available)
The Opportunity:
This position will be responsible for developing content for end
user documentation as well as organizing, designing the flow of and
integrating all end user documentation and other relevant materials
into a clear and comprehensive set of on-line documents. A strong
sense of ownership, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to
sift through many details in order to arrive at a clear view of the
big picture are all needed.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
Write and update end user documents and help files
Convert existing documentation while creating on-line help
systems
Create context-sensitive help
Refine and expand existing document content
Design department intranet site and online documentation
archive
Candidate Attributes/Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a similar role, 5+ years of experience
for the senior level position
BA/BS degree in English, Technical Communications, Journalism or
related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience working with documentation systems (Style Guides)
Senior level position: Experience managing projects; taking a lead
role in determining timelines and priorities for documentation
projects
Excellent knowledge of written English, including a thorough
knowledge of style and grammar
Familiarity with Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical
Publications and/or AP style preferred
Ability to learn technology quickly, including basic computer
literacy and an understanding of software production or
configuration with audience focus
Experience with translating technical notes into easy-to-understand
documentation
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and HTML preferred
Editorial ability (consistency, usage, clarity, content) with an eye
for design
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Well organized, with attention to detail. Must be able to manage
several projects concurrently and demonstrate adaptability
Must be able to build solid working relationships with developers
Must have experience developing on-line documentation systems
Experience working with tools like RoboHelp, FrameMaker or Flare
preferred
